Midnight Stealth Art Update

I was just reading my last art update http://controllingthemayhem.blogspot.com/2015/01/midnight-stealth-art-update.html and decided to move forward on the goals and plans outlined in it.

I don't know if you have ever noticed but the directions on the zodiac wheel are exactly reversed from our earthly compass.  Aries' placement on the wheel represents the direction of the East.  It is also the first day of the Spring Equinox, and the first fire sign.  Symbolically the first light.  To incorporate this information into my picture, I want the background to be of a sun rise.

So now, I just need to find a few sunrise pictures I like, to practice with.

Hey look!  I found some awesome pictures of the sunrise in West Quoddy Head in Maine (which just so happens to be the most eastern point of the Continental United States).

I will only be focusing on the sunrise right now.  I saved all of the samples because of the different view points, types of clouds, and colors.  I want to experiment with these a little bit while practicing sketching and painting a sunrise.  I have never done a sunrise before.

Saturn

Hi everybody!  I do have more interests than genealogy, I swear.  I was just really infatuated with it for a while.  So to balance my interests out a bit more I decided to go through some notes I have taken in my OneNote app.  I love this app, by the way.  It makes it so easy to take organized notes on just about anything, then organize my thoughts into something the rest of the world will understand (for my blog).  Anyway…I came across some notes I took from an astrology article I read.  I will share my first note with you now.  It is from Alan Oken's December astrology newsletter.  I like his news letters because he shares current celestial events, and he gives you enough information on general astrology to entice you to learn more about your own natal chart.  Which gives me a foundation to build upon, in my learning.

"This is quite the task and it is no wonder that Saturn, the astrological Task Master, is the natural ruler of this part of the natal map. In this article and in this month especially, I want to focus on Saturn’s primary sign, Capricorn and its position in your horoscope.  As Capricorn is the natural ruler of the Midheaven, in whichever house the celestial Mountain Goal is found, it will be there where you will also find another major key to your worldly success."

So here is my basic Natal chart:

I want to first see where Saturn is, within my natal chart:
Saturn is at 15 Libra 40' 0"r in my 9th house.  See:
"In Soul-centered astrology, we view Saturn as the agent and administrator of Karmic Law. It is Saturn who stands at the Gates of Initiation, ready to put all who aspire to a higher state of consciousness to the test. In Christian theology, this function is represented by St. Peter for it is He who acts as the Guardian to the Doors of Heaven. As one approaches Paradise, one’s deeds are weighed on the Scales of Divine Justice. It is no wonder then, that Saturn is said to be in its position of exaltation when it is placed in the sign of Libra!"

Just checking to make sure I understand so far (it helps me to paraphrase).  Saturn manages Karmic law.  If you want to achieve a higher state of consciousness then it is Saturn who will test you.  Weighing your deeds on the "Scales of Divine Justice".  Saturn is exalted in the sign of Libra!  What exactly does exalted mean?  I may have to look this up in my book for you.  I am doing this because I don't want to assume anything.  I am a beginner of astrology and hate when people assume I understand a term that I don't.  There for I am going to take the beginner approach and explain things as best as I possible can, just-in-case this is the first astrology article you have ever read.

Saturn is "in its position of exaltation when it is placed in the sign of Libra" means that Saturn expresses itself in a harmonious way in Libra.  According to my book: The only way to Learn Astrology, Volume I, Basic Principles by Marion D March & Joan McEvers.  http://www.amazon.com/The-Only-Way-Learn-Astrology/dp/0935127615

Well that's good for me, since my Saturn is in Libra.  So is it safe to say that Saturn points out the test I must pass to become successful?   Lets see what else Alan says.

"Saturn is the farthest planet visible from the Earth with the naked eye and its rings are certainly its most outstanding feature. The rings are symbolic of limitations and represent the parameters of the Law of Karma. It is impossible to enter the more advanced levels of consciousness represented by Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, without first passing through Saturn’s rings. Thus, a person cannot enter into the realms of the “higher heavens” without first having fulfilled the responsibilities of one’s personal karma. It is only when we have been able to live correctly in the more personal spheres of life that we earn the right (and are capable!) of moving into more collective and transpersonal spheres of activity."

So Saturn represents the limitations and parameters that Karmic Law says I have to work with?  It tells me what my karmic responsibilities are?

There is another important term in the esoteric doctrine which characterizes the karmic nature and function of Saturn. This term is “The Dweller on the Threshold.” The “Dweller” represents those parts of our personality which have not been redeemed or transformed by the loving agencies of the Soul. This is a place of karmic debt and of crystallized energy that does not permit us to go beyond the “Threshold” of our limited consciousness. The position of Saturn is also one of opportunity. It is by understanding and working with Saturn that we may come to balance a great deal of past karma and may go forward consciously to a more refined way of self-expression. As we progress through life, we often find that it is through restrictions and the pain which comes from thwarted desires or aspirations that we develop a greater understanding of the Laws of Life. The structure and administration of these Laws is also under the rulership of Saturn. The sign and house position of Saturn in your natal chart will reveal much about the nature of your personal “Dweller” and show the areas where successful work has been achieved (positive aspects to and from Saturn) or where work still has to be done (hard aspects or conjunctions with Saturn).

When planets are placed a certain numbers of degrees from each other (angles) they form aspects.  My book (mentioned above) says that the trines and sextiles are flowing and that the squares, oppositions, and conjunctions are challenging.  So if Saturn is sextile or trine with anything it shows where successful work has been achieved, I guess.  Squares, oppositions, and conjunctions shows where work still needs to be done.

So my Saturn sign, house, and aspects will show where work has been done, and where work still needs to be done.

Saturn is at 15 Libra 40' 0"r in my 9th house, conjunct Pluto, square Ascendant, trine Sun, and trine Mercury.

Saturn in Libra: We find Saturn in its exaltation when positioned in this sign. A Soul-centered individual with Saturn in Libra will function to administer a balanced judgment in the right use of energy, an impartiality expressed in all forms of human interchange. This planetary combination involves all of the Rays of Mind. The Third (Saturn and Libra), the Fifth (Venus as exoteric ruler of the Scales), the First (through Saturn’s rulership of Capricorn), and the Seventh (through Uranus, esoteric ruler of Libra). Thus we have a person with the potential to relate to others in ways that are proper and fair no matter what the circumstances may be.

So I must work within the parameters of divine justice.  It is my responsibility to administer a balanced judgment.  Balance proper uses of energy.  Be impartial in communicating with others.  I do feel I relate to others in fair ways.  I'm only focusing on Saturn right now.  I will look at the others later.

Saturn in the Ninth House: The potential to stabilize the higher mind in order to anchor a firm foothold on the spiritual Path. Saturn in this house may also block any further mental progress until one learns not to control or dominate others through a particular philosophy or orthodox teaching.

I think Libra helps me with this.  I am pretty fair when listening to others' religious views.  I understand them as beliefs and know that I can not prove or disprove what one chooses to believe.  People have the freedom to believe as they wish.  Who am I to tell them that they are right or wrong.  I only wish others had this same level of fairness.  I believe one should follow what feels right in their heart and mind, and that is it.  Whom ever your higher power may be, made you who you are and you should follow those instincts.  Each person has their unique purpose and should have the freedom to fulfill that purpose.  I think this is what Saturn in the 9th refers too, in this instance.

Alan doesn't give any interpretations of the aspects he mentioned above, so I will have to look them up myself.  I will look at my book and other sources online for this information.

Lets first look at my positive aspects, which shows areas where successful work has already been done.  Saturn trine Sun and Saturn trine Mercury.

In my book it says that trines' keyword is flow.

My book says that the Sun is:
"The main expression of the individual.  Shows the qualities of leadership and success.  It represents the masculine principle, the father, husband and men in general.  The Sun rules health, vital principles, authority and bosses, rank, title, high office, progress, dignity, energy, sense of identity and capacity for experience.  It's action is fortifying and vitalizing."

I would say that I do express myself pretty well.  I have held successful leadership positions.  I have achieved success in my life.  I have taken the masculine role in my family many times, successfully.  In the Navy I achieved rank quickly in the beginning.  I have experienced quite a bit.  So yes successful work has already been done in these areas.

Lets see what another source says about Saturn trine Sun.
Sun Trine Saturn
"A rather quiet person, you may act quite a bit older than you are. You are serious and very much concerned with doing what is right rather than doing just what you want to do. You are patient and willing to work a long time to reach a goal.
In everything you do, your standards are very high, and you insist on a very strict code of behavior, both for yourself and for others.
If you cannot see the usefulness of something, you are not likely to see much value in it. You will have to learn that knowledge that does not have any immediate use may be helpful later in unexpected situations. "

So from Alan's perspective I think this is saying that I have already done successful work on doing what is right, being patient, setting high standards, following a strict code of behavior, and learning the usefulness of things and knowledge to adapt to unexpected situations.

My book says that Mercury "rules reason, ability to communicate, intellect, awareness, dexterity, rationalization, transmission, words, opinion, and sensory perceptions.  Its action is quick, uncertain, volatile.  Deals with travel (especially short trips), brothers and sisters, children, clerking, speaking, writing, bookkeeping, secretaries, neighborhood activities, letters and mailings, means of transportation, trade, emotional capacity and technique."

I do think I communicate well.  I am intellectual, and believe I do have a high awareness for the world around me.  My manual dexterity has actually been tested and was  very high.  I do think I am rational, opinionated, and quite sensitive.  I have taken many short trips.  I think I'm a good mom.  I have done public speaking, writing, book keeping, secretarial work, wrote letters and mailings, and was a bus driver.  Maybe trade was something I did in a past life or something.  I think my emotional capacity is quite high considering what I have survived and still turned out ok.  LOL

Lets see what another source says about Saturn trine Mercury:
Mercury Trine Saturn
"You are careful and cautious, and you do everything in a very structured and organized way. You have discipline, which you need in order to get anything done.
Your view of life is practical. You want to know what good something is before you get involved with it. For this reason, you can take an idea, and make something real of it that others can see and appreciate.
You want to know the objective truth about the world, and you are willing to study hard to find it out. The only problem is that you may not be sensitive enough to the less concrete aspects of the world, such as other people's feelings or vague impressions that do have real meaning. In short, you may be too hard-headed to appreciate the lighter and more subtle side of life. "

So looking at this from Alan's perspective I think this is saying I have already mastered being  careful, structured, organization, practicality, taking ideas and turning them into something others can appreciate.  I have mastered studying hard to find the objective truth about the world.

So what do I need to work on?
Saturn conjunct Pluto
My book says conjunct's keyword is emphasis.

My book says Pluto:
"traditionally rules the underworld and that which is hidden from view (including the unknown worlds within you, your submerged or subconscious self).   Also represents all replication processes like conception and printing.  Pluto governs the masses, waste, subversion, atomic power and crime.  It rules phobias and obsessions, slow growth, group factors, transmutation, beginnings and endings birth and death, isolation, coercion, disappearance, kidnapping anonymity, bacteria and viruses.  Represents generation, regeneration and degeneration.  It exposes that which has been developed secretly or undercover.  It governs vacancy, plumbing, dictatorships, unpopular causes and the exclusive.  Pluto's action is slow, ponderous and inevitable,  It is the last of the transcendental planets and is considered a higher octave of mars."

Hmmm this is a tough one.  What are some things I need to work on in this.  I can work on more spiritual aspects within myself without so much influence from the outside world.  I need to learn to be less wasteful.  Working for the good of the masses.  Uncover subversion and crime.  Work on inner phobias and obsessions.  Working in groups more.  Manifesting my ideas.  Maybe I isolate myself to much.  Healing bacterial and viral issues.  Transmuting things that are problems.  Work on things others don't wish too.  Spend more time on growth and pondering things.  Work on transcending issues.

I don't know lets see what another source says about this aspect.

This aspect signifies that you can endure very difficult times, if you have to, and that you have an unusual degree of tenacity.
There may be a scarcity of some element or experience in your life. If this is the case, you will have to work very hard in an organized and disciplined way to make up for it.
Some persons with this aspect respond to the changes that must come in life with fierce resistance. You will have to cultivate the attitude of letting nature take its course, instead of building up structures to prevent change. But if you allow changes to take place in your life, your inner fortitude will be more than enough to help you through any difficult times.

So now what I am getting from this is that I need to learn to let change happen, even if it is difficult change.  I need to endure it and learn from it, instead of worrying so much about what may happen and trying to prevent it.  If I feel I am lacking something in my life, I need to learn to make up for it instead of dwelling on the lack.  Let nature take it's course.  Build up myself internally so that no matter what changes or difficulties come, I know I will be ok.

Saturn square Ascendant
My book says the keyword for square is challenge.

I don't see where my book talks about the Ascendant as a separate point so I am going to go solely off of the astro.com source.

You may have quite a bit of difficulty learning to relate to other people as friends or loved ones, even within your immediate family. This problem usually stems from the fact that you feel somehow unworthy of being loved or attended to. Certainly you are not incompetent, but you tend to feel that the demands of life, specifically those made by other people, are so high that you cannot live up to them.
Do not accept criticism as the main part of a relationship, for it is not. Mutual love, respect and reinforcement should be the main components of any relationship.
Some persons with this aspect, feeling that the outer world demands too much, withdraw from social contact by going inside themselves. Others feel that there is only a great void within, so they work furiously in the outer world of friends and other contacts to escape from that inner emptiness.

I need to work on relating to others on the friend of family level.  I need to learn and know that I am worthy of and deserve love from others.  Working on mutual love, respect and reinforcement rather than criticism.  Do not worry about the expectations others may have of me, just love them and except their love.  Learn to balance my inner world and my outer world.

Ok.  That's all I am going to work on Saturn for now.  Does anybody have any alternate interpretations?  Any suggestions, or recommendations?

All charts and interpretations are based on Western Tropical Astrology and the Esoteric teachings of Alan Oken and linked sites.

Modern Aries (idea phase)

A while back I started studying astrology.  While reading about Aries I decided I wanted to paint a picture that showed how an Aries (Sun Sign) might look today.  What a modern Aries might be doing in today's world.  There is so much information out the zodiac sign of Aries.  So many different ways I can take this.  I could take this so many different ways.  There could be up to so many pictures done on the topic of Aries.  One for how each planet acts in Aries and how Aries reacts in different houses.  For now I am going to work on the basic information for just the Zodiac sign of Aries with no other influences.

In western tropical astrology, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac.  It is the first of 3 signs in the fire element.  It is the first of 4 signs in the Cardinal modality.  If looking at the zodiac as a yearly clock, the beginning of Aries marks the start of the Spring Equinox (Northern Hemisphere).  It is associated with the direction of East.  How do I want to portray this information artistically?

Since Aries marks the start of Spring I have decided my setting will take place in the early Spring.

I am going to look for some pictures of early spring to practice on.

It looks like Maine usually still has snow on the ground around Equinox time.  I have never attempted to paint or draw snow, let alone snow melting and the grass starting to show through.  I have saved these pictures to practice on.  As I think the snow melting and the ground underneath starting to show through would be a very good indicator of the time of year my painting will take place.  I have no idea how to go about drawing or painting this.  I recently got a new computer though.  On this new computer I installed an app from Microsoft called fresh paint.  To keep my materials costs low…I think I am going to use this app to practice a few of the pictures above.

I found these pictures by searching for images of Maine in March.  I have included the original link I obtained these images from to give credit to the original artists.  I am trying to keep this picture as realistically accurate as possible.  Depending on what else ends up in this picture I may need to search for images of snow melting on those particular items as well.  For now I am going to pick one of the images above and basically practice the ground area where the snow is.

This is the image I decided to go with, I cropped it to view only what I want to practice right now.

This is my first time using Fresh Paint.  There are some things I think they could do to improve the app.  When you use a picture such as above you have to set it as flat paint, outline, wash sketch, or brush paint.  You paint directly on the picture.  For practice and originality purposes I would prefer a transparent overlay where I could do a combination of sketching and painting. This way I could sketch my own outlines then add paint.  I would also add share buttons so I could share the progress of the layer I am sketching on without the picture behind it.  This way you would only see my progress in comparison with the original picture instead of the two looking like the same picture.  There may be ways to do this, I just haven't found them yet.  You will see what I mean in my progress picture below.

I thought about using the Google Chrome app Psychopaint but you have to upgrade to the premium version to add different layers.  After I give fresh paint a shot I may attempt this same painting in Psychopaint just to play around with it, learn what options I do have on it, and see what the difference in quality is.

This is all I have for today.  Watch for new progress soon.  Comments and suggestions are welcome!

August 2014 2nd Quarter Moon

I haven't blogged on anything in a while.  I was looking for a new house, packing, then moving, and now I have been unpacking.  It has been a busy couple of months.  I have been having a hard time finding the box I packed my favorite books in.  All week I have really been wanting to take some time out to read, study and  write.  Since I haven't been able to find my usual books I blog about I decided to read some articles posted by friends and groups on Facebook and various other places, while taking breaks.

I stumbled upon an astrology page that one of my dear friends shared in one of my favorite groups.  This has been the best astrology page I have seen for a while.  I love their article "Introduction to Astrology" which can be found here http://www.astrology.com.tr/astrology.asp .  It was the most beautiful explanation I had ever heard.  It was very informative as well as insightful.  It just felt right.  So I decided to continue reading the articles on this site and stumbled across one I want to work with and see if I can find any insights.

I will probably be doing my blog like this more often.  Going with what I feel is right, what I feel a need or want to research on any given day.  Living in the now, going with my intuition and instincts; rather than pushing towards something I may have lost interest in or just may simply not have the time to do on that particular day.

Back to the topic at hand.  I found this article that I want to work with in my blog.  It is on lunar cycles and you can find it here http://www.astrology.com.tr/lunar-astrology.asp .  I have known for a while now that the New Moon is a great time to set your intentions but I didn't know about the different quarters.  Also I am a stay at home Mom who just happens to do a lot of stuff in her spare time.  Lots of things have interested me (Gemini) so pin pointing actual goals I actually want to accomplish (aside from selling my house, buying a new one, and moving) has been difficult.  I'm hoping that astrology will help me figure out a possible life path that I can follow that will enable me to thrive both materially and spiritually.  This kind of astrology, really understanding where you fit in it all, takes a lot of reading, studying, practicing, time, and patience.  One day I will get there.  Until then as I read something I think I can work with I am going to try…practice makes perfect, right!?

I looked at a lunar calendar and it appears we are in the second quarter of the lunar cycle.  "The second quarter is the time of growth, development, and articulation of things that already exist."  What needs to grow?  What can I develop?  What already exists that needs expressed?   The second quarter started on the 3rd and ends on the 9th.  So I am going to look and see where the moon was transiting on my birth-chart on the 3rd.  Maybe it will give me some hints.

The Moon was at 28 Libra on the third of August which places it in my 9th house.  Since the Libra part applies to all I will look at what this site says about it first.

Libra is an Air sign.   "Air Signs are correlated with the mind's sensation, perception, and expression, especially related to personal interaction and to geometrical thought forms and abstract ideas." http://www.astrology.com.tr/elements.asp.  My thoughts on this are that we need to grow what ever stimulates our minds.  Develop how we perceive things.  Wow we have a double whammy on expressing ourselves.  More specifically how we personally interact with others while expressing ourselves.  It's time to express, develop and grow and abstract ideas or geometrical thought forms we have.  So anything that you have been thing of that seems way out there, now may be the time to express those thoughts, develop them into something real and watch it grow.

Libra is a Cardinal sign "The Cardinal Signs correlate with the principle of action and symbolize initiating movements of energy in a definite direction." http://www.astrology.com.tr/elements.asp I think this cardinal energy is telling us to do more than just think about things.  Start making goals that will move your thoughts into a real direction.  Giving a path and focus.

So my thoughts on this 2nd quarter Moon in Cardinal Air.  Is that it is time to put our fear aside.  No matter how abstract the ideas you have are it is time to express and develop them.  Making real goals that will allow for your idea to grow into something sensational.  Setting a path to move your ideas in what ever direction you want to go.  It is time to act on all those great ideas you have.  If you lead a busy life like me and have multiple ideas at least write them down and look and see what you can do with them while you have some down time.

You can let me know what you think about my interpretations if you like.  I am basically finding keywords in the article and intuitively combining them.  I am a beginner in astrology and have never really looked at anyone else's chart but mine.

Now let's see what the article says about the sign of Libra.  "It's Libra's job to restore balance, create harmony, and cooperate with all—not just the easy jobs. Both balance and harmony require an entity to give and take equally." "No sign is more charming, social, and able to coax the same out of another. Libra is cardinal air, so it wants to start conversations. Libra planets are experts at behavior that's pleasing to others. They’re Venus-ruled, so they specialize in manners, courtesy, and small talk. Libra planets fit into any social situation and get along with just about everyone. They don't want to be alone, and, because they're gifted with the ability to pacify, they may sell out their own needs or the truth to buy momentary peace and a companion. Their real work is to see both sides of a situation, weigh the options, and keep their inner balance by remaining honest. "  http://www.astrology.com.tr/air-signs.asp

Now combining their information on Libra with their information on the 2nd quarter Moon I think this is about developing our honesty with ourselves.  Developing and growing our inner balance.  Remaining true to our own needs while interacting with others.  Taking action to create balance and harmony within ourselves and the world around us.

The date time and place that you were born determines the house that this 2nd quarter Moon would be transiting.  Many of you have this 2nd quarter Moon transiting other houses, so the following more specific to me, although there may be some one out there experiencing this transit in their 9th house as well.

What does this site say about the 9th house?  "The cadent houses (3, 6, 9, 12) are areas where there is input, exchange, and distribution of thoughts and observations. The keyword for these houses is LEARNING."  http://www.astrology.com.tr/houses.asp

So I need to learn about inner balance and being true to myself in my dealings with others.  Feeling free to express my thoughts and ideas.  Allowing myself to set goals accordingly to move my life in a specific direction.

"Fire Houses ("THE TRINITY OF LIFE"—1, 5, 9)
These houses are associated with one's attitude toward life and the experience of being alive. They represent an out pouring of energy into the world and aspirations that motivate us to do so. The person with an emphasis on these houses lives in his or her enthusiasms, ideals, and dreams for the future. Faith and confidence (or the marked lack of it) and the need to see an effect on the world at large through one's initiatives dominate much of the person's life activity. The person experiences self most immediately through projecting dreams into the world and seeing them manifested as reality. Planets in the fire houses affect the individual's ATTITUDE TOWARD LIFE ITSELF and the person's entire sense of faith and confidence in self. The keyword that sums up the essential meaning of the fire houses is IDENTITY; for our sense of identity, our sense of being, determines our attitude toward life in general." http://www.astrology.com.tr/houses.asp

Socializing this quarter will inspire and motivate me.  I need to act on my enthusiasms, ideals, and dreams for the future.   Focusing on how these actions affect the world around me will have an affect on my actions.  I need to express myself by projecting my dreams into the world and watch them manifest in reality.  Learning about my inner-self, my true self and balancing my needs with the needs of others will help my faith and confidence in the world.   Watching my dreams come into fruitation will affect my attitude toward life, my faith in myself and my self-confidence.  It's time to get a sense of my identity and act on my dreams.

"The Ninth House
The ninth house covers long journeys and religion (the longest journey of all). Here is what remains of the purification that takes place in the eighth house -- the seed, or essence, of an entire cycle of experience. Religion comes from a Latin word that means to bind back, and thus refers to all things that last or endure, such as the truth. Essential ideas, philosophy, and all that is the very heart of things belong here." http://www.astrology.com.tr/houses.asp

Long journeys…yea how this action will affect the world around me and those who depend on me definitely affects the action of taking a long journey.  Quite literally there is not enough money in the budget to take care of my family and take a long journey.  I don't have enough to cover a ticket for myself.  Not to mention the backlash of if my husband and child could not go, and oh how they would suffer if that money was taken out of the budget.  So yes I take spiritual journeys.  This is where it is starting to come together.  I love to learn about the religions of the world.  I have not picked a faith other than following what feels right in my heart based on the research I have done in spirituality and the religions of the world.  I do search to learn the truth in all things.  I love sharing my insights on such topics of spirituality, religion, and philosophy to all.  That is part of why I created this blog, to share my insights and express my thoughts on various topics.  I have joined communities and groups hoping to add a social aspect to it all.  Maybe this is telling me that all of this is already there and that it is time  start expressing it again.  Yup I think that's what this 2nd quarter moon is telling me.  Also maybe trying to find some locals that share the similar interests.  Maybe I'll start my own local group to meet regularly if I can't find one that already exists.  Hopefully this is telling me it already exists and all I need to do is simply join.  This would cover all the aspects, self expression, socialization, already existing, developing, growing, philosophy, spirituality, and religion.  Hmmm funny how things come together and are reflected in the cosmos above.  Please feel free to interact.  Tell me what you think of this 2nd quarter moon.  Do you have your own insights?  Do you think mine need tweeked?

Well that's all for tonight.  Love, Light, and Blessings to all!

Both Air and Water are tied for majority influence in my nature/personality for the year.  I feel as though I need to explain the way I feel about describing someone's personality for the year.  I know you are who you are and the core of your personality may not change.  However if you are evolving you will incorporate other aspects into your personality to try to achieve balance of all of the elements.  That is the way I see it anyway.  The most influential element in my natal chart is also air.  So this year I will maintain my airy qualities.  In an effort to evolve this year I am tasked with learning about my water type characteristics and try to achieve a nice balance of both.

So how to a balance Air
"These signs can communicate well; they tend to be intellectual, and they are able to handle abstract reasoning.  They are logical, broadminded, objective, idealistic and unprejudiced.  Misused, they can be cold and impractical." (1p6)
    And water
"These signs are feeling, sustaining and receptive.  They are emotional, intuitive, responsive, sensitive and deep.  They tend to be susceptible to moods, and are easily influenced by the environment.  Remember that water is found in three forms: liquid (water), frozen (ice), and gaseous (steam). Cancer is the liquid form; Scorpio is the frozen form, and Pisces is the gaseous form.  Misused, these signs can be self-indulgent, self-pitying and wavering." (1p6)
To evolve personally in this year's divine timing?

First I have to say that the air and water combination reminds me of Aquarius.  Aquarius is called the "Water Bearer" but is an air sign.  Many people don't understand how this could be.  When I see Aquarius and thus the water and air combination, I see the clouds.  I think they are a perfect representation of this combination.  The water held in the air going from place to place releasing the mists of life.

Ok anyway back to what I need to learn from this for the coming solar year.
I believe this is an indicator that it is time to learn more about my feelings.  I need to learn to be more receptive.  Acknowledge, understand, and communicate my feelings.  Learn things on a deeper level.  I need to be more sensitive to my intuition and my ideals.  Not just learning information and communicating it but feeling it at the same time.  It is time to experiment with and experience the knowledge I have gained.  I need to be  unprejudiced, objective and broadminded when responding to the needs of others.  When I feel I am being influenced to much by the environment and those around me I need to look at those feelings from a more logical and intellectual point of view.  Water will definitely help with trying not to be cold and impractical.  Just as Air can really help with not becoming self-indulgent and self-pitying.  It is a good combination to try and practice.

Air is the most influential element in my Natal chart.  So the nature/personality I was born with would tend to be mostly infused with the qualities this element brings.
"These signs can communicate well; they tend to be intellectual, and they are able to handle abstract reasoning.  They are logical, broadminded, objective, idealistic and unprejudiced.  Misused, they can be cold and impractical."
