Update:  I talked to my Aunt and she said grandpa James moved to Oregon.  That she didn't know when he died but that it must have been there.  So I added that info and sure enough, when I searched for him in the death records on ancestry.com the first one on the list:  James Roach Born about 1900 in the Oregon Death Index!  Yea I now have his death info!  The information in this post should now reflect that.
