I have come to a realization in life.  No matter how much I wish to research everything about everything…there is not enough time to do this in one lifetime.  There for I am hoping to take advantage of this World Wide Web for my subscribers and readers.  As I read books and articles I write about them on here.  I try very hard to avoid infringing on anybody whilst doing this.  I comment on things and highlight topics I wish to research further.  If you know something about a particular topic COMMENT ON IT!  If you are a writer, blogger, or author and have already researched one of the highlighted topics PASTE YOUR LINK IN THE COMMENTS.  If you have drawn, painted, or done any kind of art that relates to the topic PASTE YOUR LINK IN THE COMMENTS or PASTE YOUR PICTURE in the comments.  This will gain you more traffic to your site…I know this because I get more views when I paste my links in places.  I am hoping this call out will create a real community of knowledge for those who seek it.  Thank you…Enjoy your day!

Ceres Conjunct Ison: My Thoughts

My thoughts on the conjunction of Ceres (Asteroid re-classed as dwarf planet) and Ison (comet): 03 May 2013 I think in this part of Ison's Journey it is being a herald and messenger of motherhood telling us to enjoy each moment but also to use our intellect and cleverness in matters of food, cooking and nutrition. These are the messages Ison is sending me in this part of it's journey: Be good parents, work hard, and grow food! Communication through the exchange of energy and unification as a species through this, and becoming more connected with Mother Nature/Earth. Feelings of abandonment or unworthiness will scatter some people's energies. You can overcome many things where there is a great focus on communication, nurturing, and hard work. Conjunction warns of over-attachment (in the wrong areas), possessiveness and abandonment of children. I really think this is the beginning of something major. Interesting that this is very close to the time my planting zone is supposed to start gardening! Also I have been on a communication and energy sharing high since then and started this blog in late May early June…I will have to check the exact date on that. I am only a student just learning about Astrology. The reason I am trying to interpret such advanced astrology is because one of my mentors Sherrye Weinstein, from the Worcester Astrology Forum, indicated to me that this particular object may be of great importance to me. So if you have any other takes, interpretations or views on this topic please, please comment what you think so that I may learn what my mistakes are. Also since this is after the fact if you know of any notable occurrences that happened on 03 May 2013 please post those as well. Now all I need to do is look up where Ceres was in my chart on 03 May 2013 and see what this part of Ison's journey indicates to me personally! Lots of research to do but going to bed for now. This section of the book covers ancient medicine from Egypt and Mesopotamia.  It describes evidence of early medical attempts such as trepanning and herbal medicine.  As well as when and why major epidemic diseases appeared.
 
About 3000B.C. people were living in big cities such as Babylon.  Around this time was when the first major epidemic diseases appeared.  This causes me to think that we need to rethink our current living arrangements as a species.  Perhaps living is smaller village type settings (we can keep our tech and stuff) would enable us to be healthier…because we wouldn't be coming into contact with so many germs from so many people in the first place.
 
By 1700B.C. King Hammurabi wrote out a set of rules, guidelines, and punishments (if his patients didn’t recover and maintain health) doctors had to follow.  This was called Code of Hammurabi.  One thing the book says that I want to bring up is, "One practice was to sacrifice animals and look at their organs so they could tell if the patient would die."  Hmmm this makes me rethink animal sacrifice and it's cliché.  Seeing how lambs, dogs, cows and such are all mammals and we can get diseases from them (like cowpox) they can also get diseases from us.  Hmmm cut open an animal or cut open the human?  Sounds like an easy answer to an easy question to me.   There for maybe animal sacrifice wasn't this sickening demonic occult ritual like people think of today.  Maybe the chants to the gods were really just prayers for God to reveal (through the animal) what was wrong with the humans on a particular farm.  Enabling them to know how to treat them, or how to prepare them, as well as knowing if the farm needed quarantined or not.  The ancients were not ignorant they were just limited by the tools they had available and they didn't have the words we have today.  I honestly think they were smarter to create what they did out of what they had, and we have simply just de-evolved becoming numb to the nature around us.
 
Moving forward…This book also talks about the records the Egyptians left that described a whole range of medical procedures and drugs.  It also says that the Egyptians were the first culture who had specialist (doctors that specialized in treating particular organs or diseases).  Wow who knew?  They state that the most famous of these doctors was Imhotep.  He was also  a high priest, architect, and astrologer. The author says, "The Egyptians believed that spirits crept into the body and caused disease."  I really think this could be worded better.  I am going to be very careful in my wording because I do not want to be insensitive to my audience.  Can you USUALLY see a spirit?  Can you see germs?  Ok so think about this…maybe the Egyptians just simply didn't have a word for germs even though they probably knew exactly what they were.  I bet if you looked at their remedies a lot of them probably contain high amounts of antioxidants which purge the body of toxins.  Don't quote me on that it is just something we all should probably look into.  So since we have established that in this case evil spirits probably means germs…it was the best way they could think of to describe the invisible force (germs) that caused someone to be sick.  This is why I like studying on my own so I'm not plagued by the incoherent ramblings of the Anthropologists who follow the status quo blindly!  Anyway…"They used surgery to set broken bones and sew up wounds.  Most Egyptian medicine consisted of herbal treatments."  Doesn't sound like they relied solely on spirits to me!

• The oldest surviving medical text is the Ebers papyrus from Egypt.
• 66ft long, describes many diseases and remedies.
• It includes 700 drugs and 800 medicine recipes.
• Imhotep was the first known doctor, after his death he was made into a god!
• 1550B.C. The Ebers Papyrus is written in Egypt.
• 650B.C. Mesopotamian clay tablets describe herbal cures and accurately describe a migtu (epileptic seizure).

11/03/2013-  It's DONE! Welcome to my spirit room.  The first of what can and may be a huge line of paintings!

10/27/2013- It's almost done!  I just need to let it dry to put the finishing touches on it.

10/09/2013- I got some paint on it...Looking really good I think.

I really hate painting on sketch paper but it is what I have available right now...Gotta make the best out of what I have... :)


This is the my base drawing for what will hopefully be an awesome painting.  This is going to be a spirit painting…You will just have to stay tuned to see how it unfolds hehehe!  It is the starting point and focal point for many other paintings and drawings I have in my head…they will all center off of this one with multiple lines branching out!  I’m so excited!  If you like it please leave a comment and share!

How ISON Affects my Sun Sign Gemini

How ISON affects my Sun sign Gemini
Gemini is my Sun Sign there for ISON greatly intensifies my ego, aspirations, my soul, will, vitality, individuality, creative energy, and honors. 
I am biased when it comes to me that is why I am putting what other sites say and putting my comments in (parenthesis).  I don't think I will have this problem with others once I learn more.  Anything having to do with ISON is my own work because it is new in the solar system and comets are not covered much on other sights because of the time period they affect is limited.
The Sun's position on my natal chart is:  Sun 13°13' Gemini, in House V.
What the Sun in Gemini means:
No one expects me to be where I am.  I am very curious and answer my own questions often (I spend a lot of time on this).  I am scatter brained meaning I can't stay on one topic (there is to much to learn)(This can be increased by ISON dramatically) but I do find answers and knowledge quickly and it doesn't take me much time to solve a puzzle.  I travel between places and topics in my mind.  As long as I can be social and have new things to learn I am fine (so true).  According to astrotheme.com I am "expressive, lively, adaptable, quick-witted, humorous, sparkling (ooh, ooh! Shiny, Shiny!) playful (hehehe), sociable, clever, curious, whimsical, independent (yup!) Polyvalent (according to the dictionary I affect more than one strain of organism?), brainy, flexible, ingenious, imaginative, charming, fanciful but also capricious (dictionary says: tending to make sudden unexpected changes)(Intensified by ISON), scattered (yea I often skip words or whole sentences when I speak) (Intensified by ISON) moody (my hubby would agree with that), shallow (I don't think so), inquisitive (yes I ask a lot of questions)(Intensified by ISON), opportunistic (Intensified by ISON), unconcerned, selfish (sometimes), fragile (yes), ironical (isn't it ironic, don't ya think lol) or changeable.”
Ok! what the Sun at 13 degrees Gemini means:
Ambitious (INTENSIFIED) and watchful. Astrotheme says my cleverness is wasted in dubious business (for the longest time this was so true but I am determined to change that).  It also says I am spurred by the need to wield power (possible intensification) (more than anything I think I just want people to listen to me) I obtain positions of authority for better or worse (I really don't know how I get put in charge of stuff but I do and I usually some how succeed).
Gemini in house 5 (the fun house, creativeness (INTENSIFIED), hobbies, luck in gambling, relationships with children (including mine). 

 Gemini in the Fifth House
Gemini in the Fifth House bestows the flirtations (INTENSIFIED) tendency on the native's personality (very flirtatious, in my younger years anyway). Many love affairs (I have learned this causes too much drama), sometimes a couple at a time, are indicated as the Gemini influence lends its dual impact. The desire for variety is at the base of this person's character (yes I get very bored very easy). He will crave change (INTENSIFIED) and yet always maintain the uncanny knack of appreciating all he sees (INTENSIFIED) (yes). He will find himself immensely attracted to the intellectual set (yes smart people please talk to me), and his conversational ability  (INTENSIFIED) should draw him the variety he craves (it is starting to).
The indications for children are not strong (I have only one child who is a miracle and that is all the patience I have to spare), and his family is usually very small. (All of this is so very true!)

More specifically my fifth house is : House V 7°45' Gemini
So this emphasizes rebellion, my anxiousness (I am always in such a hurry to learn or do something and I often suffer from anxiety attacks.)  Many fun type events I chose or choose to do can be destructive beyond my control (that is why I don't have any love affairs anymore and why I am very choosy about my friends).  Success, fame and wealth can be achieved in careers requiring creativity (INTENSIFIED) and eloquence (that's it! I'm going to quit worrying about if it will make me money or not and focus more on my arts and crafts!)  My spouse does not support my fun (since I have calmed down this is not as much of an issue).
So since ISON is present I will say it  stimulates my creativity, my need to be a social butterfly, changes in scenery or events or topics.

ISON was discovered in sidereal Gemini as it was entering our solar system just before its last retrograde loop.  ISON makes progressively larger retrograde loops each year as it moves closer to Earth, as shown in the star chart below.  These occur around the head of the Gemini Twins Castor and Pollux—our first and very prominent indicator to consider to derive astrological meaning.

What I think about the comet ISON in general.

Stimulates enjoyment, enthusiasm, excitement, cleverness, intellectualism, and communication.  It is trying to tell us to enjoy each moment, and to voice our opinions.  It may also cause some energies to be scattered.  Since it makes so many retrograde loops around the heads of Gemini (it's discovery place) I think it highly stimulates and encourages being clever, intelligent, and communication.

Introduction

 

The introduction of this book focuses mainly on the differences of Western and Eastern medicine.  It compares and contrasts it from a modern view all the way back to ancient times.  Western medicine treated symptoms and specific ailments where as Eastern medicine has always practiced the way of healing the whole body through balance.  Western medicine had very high death rates due to infection until the 1900s.

 

"Disease is a state in which the body does not function properly." Health is relative according to what your expectations are for normal life.

 

The book also mentions key dates of medical history.  Below are the ones I have chosen to research further in the near future:

• 2700B.C. Shen Nong discovers herbalism.
• 2600B.C. Imhotep describes ancient Egyptian medicine.

• c.1700B.C. Code of Hammurabi lays down laws for doctors (Hammurabi, king of Babylon)
• 1550B.C. Ebers papyrus records Egyptian medical practices.
