Update

Hi all!  Sorry it has been so long since I have written.  I have been moving.  I am now completely moved into my new house.  We are still in the process of remodeling this new home and we are not yet completely unpacked.  However, we now have all of our stuff here...LOL.  Those of you who follow me on Facebook already know this.  If you are not one of my Facebook followers yet, you can find me at:  https://www.facebook.com/christa.chandler.75

It is now completed and ordered.  I am so excited!  I can't wait to see it in hand!  I can't wait to gift wrap it and give it to the best mom in the whole world!

Something else I did recently was create a Williams Family & Genealogy group on Facebook.  I invite anyone who has the WILLIAMS surname in their family tree to join this group.  I thought it would be a nice place to share history, pictures, family reunion info, and maybe even see if there are any family connections.  I will occasionally create a session ID on Relative Finder and post it in the group so that anyone who wants to see how their related to each other can (if they have a tree on Family Search anyway).  Come check out the Williams group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1633519303547118/

CC's Genealogy Today

Lydia F ? WILLIAMS
What do I know about her?
In 1880 she was living with her husband: Thomas WILLIAMS (31), and her 2 daughters: Ella Williams (8) and Sarah E Williams (2).  They lived in: District 7, Baltimore, Maryland.  She was 29 at the time of the census giving her a birth year of about 1851 and reports she was born in Maryland.

Her husband appears to remarry in 1885 in Prince Georges, Maryland (according to the 1900 census) before he moves on to Ohio where he took the 1900 Census.  It appears their daughter Ella Susan WILLIAMS moved with him as she married in Ohio in 1895.

What do I want to know about Lydia F ? WILLIAMS?
What is her maiden name?- I hate not having this for my charts.
Who were her parents?- This will help further the continuation of my tree.
What is her birthday?
What date did she die?

Ok.  Where should I look for clues to answer may questions?
Well it looks like she probably passed away in Maryland.  It looks like most if not all of her life was in Maryland.  Some records that may give me hints to her Maiden name might be a marriage record or death record.  Since I don't have her parents' names it would be kind of difficult to find a birth record or anything at this point.  However since I have her spouse's name I may be able to find a marriage record.  The death record may only have her married name listed so I will look for her marriage record first.

This is after the 1880 Census though.  It is the same county that Thomas Oliver WILLIAMS married Mary around 1885 though.

I put 1870 +/-10 years so that I don't get anything after the 1880 Census.  They both claimed in it that they were already married.

This is the same year Ellen was born.  I'm pretty sure this isn't it though because I'm pretty sure I saw them in a separate 1880 Census.
Double check 1880 census for Richard Thomas Williams.

There was over 600 records to go through so I restricted the spouse name to match exactly for the last name of Williams.  Those 2 appear to be the only possible Thomas' in that collection.  I'm going to broaden the date again and see if I find anything else.  I don't see anything else.  I am thinking if she was born in 1851 (I don't know how young they married back then) but I am thinking the earliest possible age would be 13 so I am looking for marriages that happened in Maryland between 1864 and 1880 when they reported being married already and she carried his last name.  I just wish Ancestry had a way to put in the exact date range you are looking for instead of +/- whatever.

I could see Ellie being a nickname for Lydia though…maybe.  She did name a daughter Ellen Susan and her other daughter was named Sarah E.. So who knows…this could be it.  She would have been 16 here.

Yea nothing else really so went back and searched on the main page for Thomas Williams married 1872 +/- 10 in Maryland.

That is it!  Since the Richard Thomas Williams and E. F. Bryan looks like they make the most sense I am going to check into their records more, before I move on to Family Search.  I quite possibly could have the wrong 1880 Census…although I doubt it.

Descendants Thomas Oliver Williams Status Update

The descendants list of Thomas Oliver Williams is being put on hold.  I'm really not getting much hints on them.
No body seems to have much info on them on Ancestry.  Nothing that really links up anyway.  I am finding stuff on Family Search though, when searching for their records. This makes the process very slow and tedious.
I need to go through them more thoroughly before publishing.  I think I am going to finish up my current ancestor chart before I worry about their descendants to much.  Since it's such a slow process.

Thomas' dad John D Williams is listed as Joseph Williams on his death certificate found on familysearch.org. His mother is listed as Catherine Carman so Sarah Carman is probably her sister and John Williams is probably John D Williams' dad.  I don't know who James Wilson is and unfortunately this census doesn't list relationships.

I don't know which John is Catherine's son and which one belongs to someone else but as you see they are listed on the same census so therefor are 2 separate people.  I don't know where is father is at this time…he was reported to have died 3 years later according to other member trees of which I haven't verified yet.

That's all I have on Thomas Oliver Cook.  Next up on the ancestry trail is his first wife Lydia Frances ? (mother of Ella Susan Williams).  Since he is the last one of his line on this chart though, I need to work on and share his descendant list first.
